Building physics is the application of the principles of physics to the built environment. Biobyte bring a fundamental understanding of physics to improving the design of building fabrics and surrounding spaces.

Using a range of analytical modelling of moisture, airflow and temperature Biobyte is helped to design unique artificial environments that keep a high internal comfort for people and also for plants.

To make the design for the built environment more sustainable Biobyte's team starts analyzing the building site, its climatic conditions and the optimum orientation for buildings to reduce or take advantage of solar gain. The design process goes on looking at occupant comfort issues, energy use, carbon emissions and operational performances.

Biobyte maintains close links with academics and leading research centers in order to remain at the cutting edge of building physics and develop services to benefit the design process in particular with the Energy Department of Politecnico di Milano. Biobyte performs a detailed analysis of a building’s energy use and energy-using systems and offers an alternative approach that encourages customized, integrated design solutions, which offer deeper savings. Using building energy system to compare energy-efficiency options directs design decisions prior to construction. It also guides existing building projects to optimize operation or explore retrofit opportunities.

Biobyte designs automation systems controlling lighting, climate, entertainment systems, and appliances. It may also include home security such as access control and alarm systems.

Biobyte develops the user interface for the control of the system uses trough either wall-mounted terminals, tablet or desktop computers, a mobile phone application, or a Web interface, that may also be accessible off-site through the Internet.
