The new screen of the year 2017 (focus on technical renovation of cinemas, age-group 1995 to date) has been awarded at CineEurope in Barcelona on June 19th for the renewed “Energy Hall” of the Arcadia cinema in Melzo at ICTA Awards (International Cinema Technology Association), a world association of film industry professionals.
The owner has also received another recognition, the UNIC Achievement Award: it is an annual prize awarded to industry professionals.
The Arcadia cinema was one of the finalists in the category “Best European Halls” and the recognition takes a particular significance because this year Arcadia is 20 years old: Biobyte participated in the acoustic design of all the halls of the complex that had started his activity 20 years ago with the most modern systems able to guarantee the comfort and the spectator’s involvement in the show projected.
The Energy Room, the largest of the five cinemas with 630 seats, was upgraded 2 years ago with a new 30-meter screen and the largest Dolby Atmos configuration installed by Meyer Sound in the world. This audio system uses, instead of traditional channels, “voiced objects” (up to 128) positioned in a 3D space to create a much more realistic and exciting 3D environment that can also envelop the spectator from the top.
